Health Care

Health Care reform has focused on dealing with matters regarding a third-party payer, i.e. insurance. This reform has not reduced prices. The primary focus should shift to transitioning to a first-party payer system, which would mean that the person seeking services could examine prices from different providers of healthcare services. This system would result in competition between providers and a reduction in prices.

This transition would be slow and may work better in some areas of health care rather than others. But I welcome a serious discussion with others in Congress about how to bring prices down through free-market competition.
